Foreside Funk is thrilled to welcome two incredibly talented specials guests for this performance.

Max Chase, a New England-based Hammond Organist, keyboardist, and session musician, brings a wealth of experience and versatility to the stage. Over the past 20 years, he has captivated audiences from Maine to Colorado, playing with music legends such as Steely Dan, George Porter Jr (The Meters), Jon Fishman (Phish), The Wailers, Cyril Neville (Neville Brothers), Bobby Martin (Frank Zappa), Kris Myers (Umphrees McGee), Cypress Hill, and the David Grisman Quintet. Whether leading a band or supporting from behind the keys, Max’s adaptive style and dynamic performances are sure to elevate the Foreside Funk experience.

Zakk Machemer is an up-and-coming saxophonist, multi-instrumentalist, and composer based in the Seacoast. Zakk’s influences span from hard-bop greats such as Cannonball Adderley and John Coltrane to contemporary musicians like Eric Marienthal and Kazui Katsuta of the Mario Kart Band.

In 2022, Zakk was selected as one of three finalists for the Carinthian International Jazz Award (CIJA) Saxophone Competition. A recent college graduate, he has been sharing his love of the jazz tradition through both performance and education. This fall, Zakk will be attending the University of North Florida to complete his master’s degree in Jazz Studies.
